Short description

What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on Thomas Pynchon's novel "Inherent Vice" (2009).
- All scenes with Reese Witherspoon were filmed in 4 days. The screenwriter and director, Paul Thomas Anderson, was so impressed with her work on set that Anderson and lead actor Joaquin Phoenix started a conversation with the actress about changing the script and adding more scenes with her character, but Witherspoon convinced them not to. Anderson later admitted she was right.
