An animated clip helping Al Gore explain the problem of global warming is taken from the 'Futurama' series, episode “Crimes of the Hot”. This is the eighth episode of the fourth season, shown on November 10, 2002, featuring Al Gore himself on screen, or rather, more accurately, his head preserved through a thousand years.
“An Inconvenient Truth” is the first and only documentary to have won two Oscars (for Best Documentary Feature and Best Original Song).
The American DVD edition box was made of 100% recyclable cardboard, posing therefore no threat whatsoever to the environment.
