What's left behind the scenes

  • Location shooting took place in Arizona, in Canyon de Chelly and Glen Canyon National Parks.
  • The film ranks 4th in attendance among foreign films in Soviet cinema distribution.
  • Specifically for the film's release in Soviet distribution, poet and lyricist Leonid Derbenyov wrote Russian lyrics to the original music by Quincy Jones, resulting in the song being included in the Soviet version of the film. The song was performed by popular singer Valery Obodzinsky.
  • The film is based on the novel of the same name by Will Henry.
