Pierre Daniel appeared on screen in a cameo role and sued Marlon Wayans (the screenwriter and performer of the role of Malcolm), accusing him of racial harassment. This happened after Wayans posted a photo of Daniel on social media next to a picture of Cleveland Brown from "Family Guy" and wrote that the depicted personalities looked very much alike. Daniel's claim was dismissed, as the judge found the resemblance undeniable.
In one scene, Marlon Wayans discusses how the "Scary Movie" franchise deteriorated after the second film (Keenen Ivory Wayans, 2001).
