Short description
A slightly self absorbed yuppie takes in his parents including his senile father, after their home burns down. But his personal and professional life fall apart soon after.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Tom Selleck later explained the film's failure by the fact that it was released on the same weekend as the Los Angeles riots from April 29 to May 4, 1992, and also by the fact that he appeared in the film without a mustache, which had long been his trademark.
  • John calls Ed a "backstabbing pig" when he learns the FBI shut down the place he worked. However, it sounds as though the word "pig" was replaced with "prick" in post-production to obtain a PG-13 rating.
  • During Mildred's conversation in the bar, the sound of her voice and lip movements do not match.
