What's left behind the scenes

  • Due to their commitments to the film *The Lego Movie* (2014), directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller made no revisions to the script before filming began.
  • Wyatt Russell turned down a role in the *Hunger Games* sequels in favor of *22 Jump Street*.
  • In scenes during spring break, a club/restaurant named “Gringo Pendejos” can be spotted, which roughly translates to “Stupid Americans.”
  • Wilhelm's scream comes from the robotics lab as Schmidt and Jenko break into it, fleeing from the “Ghost.”
  • Schmidt says that Captain Dickson's new office looks like a cube of ice. The actor who plays Dickson is Ice Cube.
  • During the first game between Jenko and Zuck, someone shouts "Omaha" – a reference to Peyton Manning, who used the word during the 2014 NFL playoff games.
  • When Schmidt drives a Lamborghini Murcielago, he says he feels like Batman. In "Batman Begins" (2005), Batman drove a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, and in "The Dark Knight" (2008), Batman drove a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.
  • The scenes in the end credits were filmed in one day during post-production and edited a month before the film's release.
  • When the heroes talk to the police chief at the beginning of the film, Jenko (Channing Tatum) states that he wouldn't mind being recruited by the Secret Service – to protect the White House. This is a reference to his previous film – "White House Down" (2013) – where he played an agent protecting the White House.
  • Seth Rogen appears as a substitute for Jonah Hill at the end of the film, in scenes parodying a sequel. One of Hill's early roles was as Seth in "Superbad" (2007), a character that Rogen originally intended to play himself when he started writing the script as a teenager.
  • In the scene where Schmidt and Jenko are in the fraternity house attic, they are holding a tablet playing music, but the icon on the screen indicates that the sound is muted. Also, in the scene where someone is texting on a smartphone, sounds of key presses are heard, but the device’s screen displays an icon indicating that the sound is off.
  • Immediately after the scene in the library, when Jenko jumps over the railing, his shoes are visible, and they have flat soles, when they should be cleats.
  • When Schmidt and Jenko arrive at the psychology professor’s office, the nameplate on his door reads “Michael P. Murphy.” Later, at the press conference, Hardy mispronounces his name as “Karl Murphy.”
  • During the scene where Zeke tells Jenko he wants him to join the fraternity, the logo of Tulane University is visible on the weights.
  • When Schmidt and Jenko drive onto the football field, they are seen tearing down an inflatable arch. When the bandits run onto the field, the arch is already back in place.
  • Due to their commitments to the film “The Lego Movie” (2014), directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller made no changes to the script before filming began.
  • Wyatt Russell turned down a role in the “Hunger Games” sequels in favor of “22 Jump Street”.

  • Seth Rogen appears as a replacement for Jonah Hill at the end of the film, in scenes parodying a sequel. One of Hill's early roles was as Seth in “Superbad” (2007), a character that Rogen originally considered playing himself when he began writing the script as a teenager.
