Scarlett Johansson's character is reading a collection of early short stories by Anton Chekhov (1860-1904) in the cafe.
Initially, the studio heads planned to cast someone from the cast of the series “That ‘70s Show” (1998-2006) in the role of Carter and invited Ashton Kutcher. However, he soon left the project due to creative differences, and the role went to Topher Grace. Grace auditioned for this role four times. While persuading the producer to cast him, he specifically emphasized that his father, a businessman who knew how to convince people, had raised him.
