Short description
In their new overseas home, an American family soon finds themselves caught in the middle of a coup, and they frantically look for a safe escape in an environment where foreigners are being immediately executed.
What's left behind the scenes
- Michelle Monaghan was initially cast in the lead role, but she left the project due to her pregnancy after filming was postponed. Ultimately, the role went to Lake Bell.
- During filming in Lampang (Thailand), a fire broke out on set. This happened after the scene of an explosion in a partially destroyed building had been completed. A crew member noticed the fire on the third floor of the building. Fortunately, no one was injured.
- Following the release of the film's trailers, a scandal erupted in Cambodia over Khmer inscriptions on the shields of police officers. The film's screening was banned in Cambodia. The filmmakers were advised to remove these inscriptions from the film, but they delayed responding, and a decision was made to ban the film.
- In a wide shot, just before Jack returns to the hotel, a rebel is seen hitting a fallen police officer. It is clearly visible that he is hitting the ground beside him.
