Short description
Frank Hart is a pig. He takes advantage of the women who work with him in the grossest manner. When his three assistants manage to trap him in his own house, they assume control of his department, and productivity leaps, but just how long can they keep Hart tied up?

What's left behind the scenes

  • This was the first full-length film featuring the then-unknown country singer Dolly Parton. As preparation for her role, she memorized not only her own lines but also the lines of all the other actors in the film.
  • The film's box office success led to the creation of a television series of the same name, which aired from 1982-1983 and 1986-1988. A total of 85 episodes were filmed during that time.
  • A musical based on the film debuted on Broadway on April 30, 2009. Dolly Parton herself wrote some of the songs for it. However, due to low sales and revenue, it was removed from the repertoire as early as September 6 of the same year.
  • The film's title song, sung by Dolly Parton, became a colossal hit in the United States and effectively launched her music career. The single topped the Billboard chart for two weeks and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
  • Plans for a sequel existed in the early 80s, but the project never got off the ground. These discussions continued to resurface periodically afterwards, each time leading to nothing.
  • Gregory Peck and Charlton Heston alternately declined the role of Russell Tinsworth.
  • The office interiors were filmed at the Pacific Financial Center at 6th and West Streets in Los Angeles.
