Most of the film's scenes were shot in Atlanta (USA).
Filming began in April 2009.
The names of the main characters are city names: Tallahassee (Florida), Wichita (Kansas), Little Rock (Arkansas), and Columbus (Ohio).
Initially, the project was conceived as a pilot episode for a new television series, but the script was then rewritten for a feature film.
Patrick Swayze, Joe Pesci, Mark Hamill, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Bacon, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Matthew McConaughey were invited for cameo appearances as the actor from Beverly Hills.
The film's director, Ruben Fleischer, posted an appeal online to those downloading his film. In it, he wrote that the more downloads there are, the less hope there is for a sequel.
