• The film is set in the fictional town of Bristo Camino, located in Ventura County, California. In Robert Crais's novel, on which the film is based, this town is called Bristo Bay.
• The word “fuck” is used 89 times in the film.
• Bruce Willis's daughter plays his daughter in the film, Rumer Willis. Rumer, who was 15 at the time of filming, wanted to get the role, but her father made her audition like everyone else, and she was ultimately chosen.
