  • The film was based on the comic book "The Secret Service" by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.
  • Emma Watson and Bella Heathcote were considered for the lead female role.
  • The script did not call for Samuel L. Jackson's character to have a lisp, but during the first take, director Matthew Vaughn heard him lisping. After speaking with the actor, Vaughn learned that Jackson actually had a lisp before his acting career, but was ultimately able to overcome the speech impediment.
