The first film adaptation of Richard Matheson's novel "I Am Legend".
Initially, Hammer Films was supposed to produce the film, but they subsequently declined and passed the project to API, which in turn found a partner in Italy in the form of Produzioni La Regina.
When Robert drives across the bridge, two people can be seen walking freely underneath it, appearing in the frame despite the fact that all the infected fear sunlight.
Vincent Price, who played the main role, insisted on using live extras instead of mannequins in the car. Of course, mannequins were used in the pit scenes.
