  • Worldwide box office receipts for "Minions" exceeded one billion dollars. Thus, Universal became the first studio in history to have three films cross this milestone in a single year. The other two films are "Furious 7" (2015) and "Jurassic World" (2015).
  • The Crown of the British Empire worn by Bob during the "coronation" scene can also be seen in the film "Despicable Me" (2010) when all the Minions offer treasures to help Gru steal the Moon.
  • The film's events take place in 1968, and in the scene where the Minions try to enter the Tower of London, it can be noticed that England was already using the decimal monetary system, although it was only adopted in 1971.
