Over 30 years, the series managed to retain almost all of its original cast – Balasko, Chazel, Lhermitte, Blanc, Clavier and Junot not only reprised their old roles, but also actively initiated the project and co-wrote the screenplay.
Patrice Leconte really wanted Maurice Chevit to star in the film, but the actor considered his work in the theater more important.
