• Filming took place in Portland, Oregon, USA from October to November 2007.
• When filming was taking place in Portland, Oregon, a local Catholic priest was invited to participate in one of the scenes. One of the casting crew members, who lived in Portland, told him that his character would not have many lines and that the screenwriter and director, Stephen Belber, had rejected everyone else who had auditioned for the role for one reason or another. The priest, initially interested, declined after learning what the scene would be and what the film was about. The scene was altered and eventually filmed, but without the priest.
