Short description

What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on a series of 16 books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. The first book in the series, "Left Behind," was published in 1995.
- Originally, Tia Mowry was cast for the role of Shasta, but ultimately singer Jordyn Sparks took her place.
- A pre-screening of the rough cut of the film was held on January 31, 2014, specifically for the authors of the Left Behind book series, upon which the film was based. The authors enjoyed the film.
- Filming of the movie began in August 2013 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
- On January 7, 2013, it was announced that Ashley Tisdale would play the role of Chloe Steele, but on August 8, 2013, she left the project due to scheduling conflicts. Work on the film was suspended from March to August. Producer Paul LaLonde stated that the filmmakers had waited until the last moment for Tisdale's schedule conflict to be resolved and for her to still be able to play the role. However, the problem was never resolved, and Cassie Thomson was cast instead.
- In this film, Lea Thompson plays Irene Steele, the mother of Chloe Steele, played by Cassie Thomson. In the series “Switched at Birth” (2011), they played mother-in-law and daughter-in-law (Catherine Kennish and Nikki Papagus).
