What's left behind the scenes

  • The film is based on the science fiction short story "All the Borogoves" by husband-and-wife co-authors Henry Kuttner (1915-1958) and C.L. Moore (1911-1987), published in 1943.
  • During a screening on Long Island in April 2007, Martin Weisz's newly released horror film "The Hills Have Eyes 2" was mistakenly shown instead of "The Last Mimzy of the Universe." The audience was predominantly children with their parents. Cinema staff realized their mistake only when people began to leave the theater en masse, comforting crying children. The management had to apologize to the audience and offer free tickets and psychological counseling as compensation.
