- The film's premiere date was postponed several times. The following dates were mentioned: September 2004, January 2005, September 2005, and finally, January 1, 2006.
- Sergei Lukyanenko "flashed" on screen in a scene of Night Watch employee training, playing one of the trainees in the back row.
- Anton Gorodetsky appears in the Moscow Metro, seemingly emerging from a poster for the film 'The 9th Company'. This episode symbolizes the filmmakers’ desire to break the box office record in Russia, previously held by 'The 9th Company' before the release of 'Night Watch' (taking worldwide gross into account, 'Night Watch' is the leader). In actuality, the filming of this episode took place in the Saint Petersburg Metro at the 'Polytechnic' station.
- The phone number shown during Anton Gorodetsky’s taxi ride belongs to a member of the film crew.
- The film features product placement, although less prominently than in 'Night Watch' (2004). However, the filmmakers earned significantly more from advertising in 'Day Watch' than they did in 'Night Watch', where the volume was estimated at half a million dollars, while in 'Day Watch' it reached 3 million dollars.

- At the beginning of filming, Alisa drove an Audi TT. However, the car was later stolen, and it had to be replaced with a Mazda.
