• Universal Pictures wanted Chris Pine's character to be clean-shaven, fearing audiences wouldn't recognize him or find his character unattractive. However, the director opposed this, and ultimately the beard remained.
• Despite Chris Pine playing a fairly significant role in the film, his name is not listed in the credits.
• When the limousine is stolen, the license plates are removed and can be seen falling to the ground. Later, when the limousine is being towed, the plates can be seen back in place.
• After Stretch crashes into the trash can, the driver's airbag deploys in the limousine. Stretch then continues driving the car. On most newer vehicles, fuel pumps shut off when an airbag deploys to prevent the vehicle from moving further.
• The interior of the limousine was created using a chroma key.
• The majority of the film was shot in Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles.
• Some joint scenes featuring Patrick Wilson and Jessica Alba were cut from the final version of the film.
