What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was banned from distribution in Belarus.
  • Kostas Mandylor did not know if his character survived, as two versions of the ending were filmed.
  • Tanedra Howard, who played Simone at the very beginning of the film, won the role on the VH1 show "Scream Queens" (2008).
  • Actors who came to the audition were given the film's script, but instead of "Saw VI" on the title page was a fake title, "Evolution III." This was done to prevent the script from accidentally leaking to the press or the Internet.
  • In the commentary for the film, Kevin Greutert noted that in the scene where Amanda is shaking from withdrawal, Shawnee Smith was actually shaking from the cold, as the temperature in Toronto was low and the scene was filmed outdoors.
  • The post-credits scene in the director's cut was supposed to be different – Corbett was supposed to sing a song, and Amanda was supposed to sing along with her to calm the girl down.
  • During the conversation between William and John at the banquet, Amanda and Jill are standing in the background in the crowd. A scene between Jill and Amanda was then supposed to begin, but it was cut.
  • Initially, it was planned to make Jill as much of a game leader as John. This idea was later abandoned.
  • The film was supposed to have a flashback of Jill and John's wedding, but the scene didn't make it into the final version.
  • The producers wanted the film to end on a scene where Tara reaches for the lever, but the director and writers ultimately defended their ending.
  • One of the characters finds himself in a jaw-breaking trap—the same as Amanda's in the first film. This is the first time a trap has been reused in the series.
  • The news anchor who reports that the games continue despite Jigsaw's death is a real Canadian news presenter.
  • Initially, a small dialogue between Jill and Hoffman was planned while she attaches a device to him. It was cut because Hoffman wouldn't be able to speak with a gag in his mouth.
  • In the scene where Mark Hoffman kills Agent Perez in the lab, he stabs her several times. Mark’s fist gets covered in blood, but there is no blood visible in the next shot.
  • At the 33rd minute of the film, Brent says that hydrofluoric acid is capable of dissolving human flesh in a matter of seconds. This acid is indeed very toxic, but it cannot dissolve a human body that quickly.
  • Tanedra Howard, who played Simone at the very beginning of the film, won the role on the VH1 show "Queens of Scream" (2008).
  • Actors who came to the audition were given the film's script, but instead of "Saw 6" a fake title, "Evolution III," was indicated on the title page. This was done to prevent the script from accidentally leaking to the press or the internet.
  • At the 2-minute mark of the film, when Simone wakes up before the start of the game, the cockroaches on the table next to her disappear and reappear with each cut.
  • During the conversation at the 16-minute mark of the film, Hoffman leans against the doorframe. After a cut, he does so again.
  • At the 17-minute mark of the film, when Simone shouts at Hoffman in the ward, the nurse puts her hand on her shoulder. In the next shot, the nurse is a couple of meters from the bed, walks up to the patient, and puts her hand on her shoulder again.
  • At the 7th minute of the film, when the press crushes Stram, his blood drips onto the glass lid of Hoffman's coffin. When the coffin moves away in the next shot, the blood is no longer there. Also, when Hoffman throws the coffin lid aside, you can notice that the blood doesn't flow, even though it couldn't have dried or clotted in just a few seconds.
  • At the 13th minute of the film, when police officers are working at the crime scene, one shot shows Eddie's corpse still breathing.
  • When William touches the glass at the 41st minute of the film, it is stained with blood. In the next shot, the glass is completely clean.
  • At the 45th minute of the film, Hoffman throws Timothy out of the cart. In the next shot, a ladder appears next to Timothy's right leg as he lies on the floor, even though it wasn't there before.
