Short description
A calamity at Dante and Randall's shops sends them looking for new horizons - but they ultimately settle at Mooby's, a fictional Disney-McDonald's-style fast-food empire.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Some parts of the original script were incorporated into the script for the film 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back'.
  • While working on the special DVD edition commemorating the 10th anniversary of the release of 'Clerks,' Smith realized how much he had come to love these characters and decided to put a sequel into production.
  • In September 2005, Kevin Smith held an auction on his official website, featuring the following items: a non-speaking role in a sequel to Clerks, a visit to the film set, and an invitation to a barbecue at Kevin's house. All proceeds from the auction were donated to a fund to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.
  • Although many characters created by Kevin appeared in different films, this work became the first 'true' sequel in Kevin Smith's directing career.
  • Once, Kevin Smith promised his friend Jason Mewes that he would only invite Jason back to the set if the actor could overcome his drug addiction. Smith kept his word, and after Jason defeated his addiction, he happily invited his friend to participate in filming Clerks II.
  • The Clerks logo is entirely composed of symbols found in the logos of various fast-food chains.
  • The film premiered at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival as part of the non-competitive program. At the end of the screening, the audience in the hall gave an 8-minute (!!!) standing ovation.
  • The film parodies a scene from "The Silence of the Lambs": the main villain dances nearly naked to "Q Lazzarus & Garvey — Goodbye, Horses"; and says: 'Fuck. Fuck me. I'd fuck myself.' This is repeated exactly by one of the film's main characters, Jay.
