• The first book about the adventures of Tarzan was published in 1914. Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote about 20 novels about the king of the jungle in total.
• The first Tarzan film appeared in 1918. Since then, about 100 films and television films have been made based on the book. The novel about Tarzan, along with the story of Count Dracula, has become one of the most filmed works in world literature.
• Motion capture technology was used for filming, in which all scenes on the planet “Pandora” in the film “Avatar” (2009) were filmed. During filming, the actors wore special tight-fitting suits covered with 68 tiny sensors, the information from which was read and processed by 60 infrared cameras.
• Four different actors played Tarzan at different ages.
• The entire film took three years to make. Filming was carried out in four stages: first, storyboards were created with 5000 illustrations, then a semi-real film was made using motion capture technology with actors and stunt performers. Then the editing process began, which lasted a whole year, as the recorded data was transformed into 3D characters. And only after that did the animation process itself begin, which took another year. 350 people worked on the film.
