What's left behind the scenes
- Screenwriters Neil Gaiman and Roger Avery began writing the script as early as May 1997.
- Some of the 3D models of the actors in the film are noticeably rejuvenated. And Beowulf doesn't look like Ray Winstone, who played his role.
- Crispin Glover and producer and director Robert Zemeckis were on bad terms dating back to the lawsuit over 'Back to the Future Part II' (1989), but they eventually reconciled, and Glover agreed to play Grendel.
