Short description
Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film is based on the comic book of the same name by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr..
  • Daniel Craig and Mark Wahlberg auditioned for the role of Papani.
  • Nicolas Cage (Papani) and Lyndsey Fonseca (Katie) were born on the same day, January 7th.
  • After Dave first sees the Hitman, we see Papani standing in front of a billboard featuring Claudia Schiffer. Claudia Schiffer is the wife of director Matthew Vaughn.
  • Marcus is reading a Diamond "Papani" McCrady comic book, which was actually drawn by artist and co-creator of "Kick-Ass" John Romita Jr.
  • Vaughn invited his wealthiest acquaintances to dinner and persuaded them to chip in $10 million each for a project "that will blow everyone away." One of the people who supported Vaughn was Brad Pitt, whom he befriended during the filming of "Snatch."
  • The well-known Sparks song "This town ain't big enough for both of us" from 1974 is used in the film as part of the soundtrack.
  • Marcus is reading the comic ‘Papanui’ by Diamond McCready, which was actually drawn by artist and comic ‘Kick Ass’ co-creator John Romita Jr.
