- As in the film "Rocky," Sylvester Stallone's own brother, Frank Stallone, played a singer.
- Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay for this film even before he wrote the screenplay for the sports drama "Rocky" (1976), but this story did not attract any of the producers Stallone approached for a long time. Only after the resounding success of "Rocky" did producers agree to look at the screenplay, and "Universal Pictures" gave the green light to filming.
- While working on this film, Sylvester Stallone was a novice director, so several times it happened that both the actors and the crew were ready to shoot a scene, but couldn't start because Stallone forgot to say "Action!"
