What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on Stephanie Meyer’s novel *Eclipse* (2007) from the *Twilight* series.
- *Eclipse* is the fifth film in which Bryce Dallas Howard replaces another actress. In *The Village*, Bryce replaced Kirsten Dunst, in *Manderlay* – Nicole Kidman, in *The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond* – Lindsay Lohan, in *Terminator 4* – Charlotte Gainsbourg, and in the third part of *Twilight* – Rachelle Lefevre.
- Chris Weitz, the director of the second installment, physically didn't have time to film "Eclipse" as he was busy with the post-production of "New Moon." Ultimately, David Slade, the director of "Hard Candy" and "30 Days of Night," took on the role.
- The replacement of Rachelle Lefevre caused outrage among many fans of the saga: they believed that Summit Entertainment cast Bryce Dallas Howard, a more well-known actress, in the role of Victoria for the third installment solely for commercial reasons. The official explanation is that Rachelle Lefevre signed on to film "Barney's Version" during a period when work on "Eclipse" was already scheduled.
- Tom Felton and Channing Tatum were considered for the role of Riley.
- In "Eclipse," Kristen Stewart wears a wig, as she had previously filmed "The Runaways," for which she cut and dyed her hair.
- Rumor has it that the directing position for "Eclipse" was offered to Drew Barrymore.
- According to unofficial sources, Vanessa Anne Hudgens and K'orianka Kilcher auditioned for the role of Leah Clearwater, while Tyler Posey and Jean-Luc Bilodeau were considered for the role of Seth.
- Stephenie Meyer named the young werewolf appearing in the third part of the Saga after her son – Seth.
- Miranda Kerr was considered for the role of Leah Clearwater.
