What's left behind the scenes

  • In the novel “The Godfather,” Michael Corleone had two sons, however, in the film he has a son and a daughter.
  • Francis Ford Coppola wanted to film a fourth part of "The Godfather." Andy Garcia and Leonardo DiCaprio were to play the main roles. However, the filming did not take place due to the author's death.
  • The full video version of the film has a runtime of 169 minutes.
  • Sofia Coppola (daughter of director Francis Ford Coppola) plays the role of Michael Corleone's daughter, but in the film "The Godfather" (1972) she played his nephew as a child. Winona Ryder was supposed to play this role, but declined in favor of a role in "Edward Scissorhands" (1990).
  • Instead of Andy Garcia, the role of Vincent could have been played by: Alec Baldwin, Matt Dillon, Vincent Spano, Val Kilmer, Charlie Sheen, Billy Zane, Nicolas Cage.
