Short description
When record store owner and compulsive list-compiler Rob Gordon gets dumped by his long-time girlfriend, Laura, because he hasn't changed since they met, he revisits his top five breakups of all time in order to figure out what went wrong. As he examines his failed attempts at romance and happiness, the process finds him being dragged, kicking and screaming, into adulthood.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on Nick Hornby's novel "Hi-Fi" (High Fidelity, 1995).
- The screenwriters, including John Cusack, wrote the script with Jack Black in mind for the role of Barry. He almost refused to star in the film, but changed his mind in time.
- Initially, John Cusack wanted Bob Dylan to play Bruce Springsteen in a cameo role, but it proved impossible to get Dylan into the film.
- The film is based on Nick Hornby's novel "Hi-Fi" (High Fidelity, 1995).
