The supporting actors agreed to work for a small fee – just to appear in a film with Bob Dylan.
Filming took 20 days. Director Larry Charles managed to shoot 8 pages of the script per day.
When Bob Dylan's character is released from prison, he is shown wearing a wig. Dylan liked the wig so much that he would occasionally wear it even after filming was completed.
