Short description
This is the story of 1970s African-American action legend Black Dynamite. The Man killed his brother, pumped heroin into local orphanages, and flooded the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor. Black Dynamite was the one hero willing to fight The Man all the way from the blood-soaked city streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House.
What's left behind the scenes
- In some scenes, a microphone on a tripod can be seen in the upper part of the frame. Usually, this happens through oversight. However, the filmmakers deliberately did this to showcase the level of professionalism of Blaxploitation film authors. This genre emerged in the United States around 1970 and was aimed at a Black urban audience. The film "Black Dynamite" is stylized after films of this genre.
- A regular pacifier was used as a prosthetic penis for the character played by Buddy Lewis.
- To prepare for his role, James McManus trained with nunchucks for six hours a day.
- The phrase that Black Dynamite hears from the dying child and then repeats is spoken in Vietnamese, not Chinese. It can be loosely translated as "Go to hell..."
