What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on Robert Ludlum's novel 'The Bourne Ultimatum' (1990).
- The beginning of the film, specifically the scenes where Bourne is in Moscow, were actually filmed in Berlin.
- The film crew consisted of 250 people, so separate planes had to be chartered for travel.
- To film the chase scenes on the streets of Tangier, cameras were suspended on a cable stretched over the rooftops.
- The scene where Bourne asks Nicky about his past was filmed on a highway southwest of Madrid.
- The film crew failed to close Waterloo Station, even for a short time, so pedestrians can be seen looking at and pointing to the filming camera in the shot.
- Among the files Bourne steals from the CIA office is a file on a terminated agent, which features a photo of actor Richard Chamberlain, who played Bourne in the 1988 television production.
- The short chase and crashes in midtown New York took six weeks to film.
- Bill Clinton's autobiography, 'My Life,' can be seen on a bookshelf in Vos's office.

- In the chase scene in Tangier, the characters played by Julia Stiles and Joey Ansah's assassin navigate through a crowd. No extras were used in this scene; the street was genuinely crowded, and it was impossible to organize the disparate crowd, so the actors performed among ordinary passersby.
- Filming in Tangier took place during the holy month of Ramadan. This is a month of mandatory fasting for Muslims, so during the day, Muslims abstain from food and drink. Some members of the film crew were Muslim, and it was not easy for them to film while being unable to have a snack or take a sip of water. Because of this, the other members of the film crew also snacked and refreshed themselves with water, so as not to be seen if possible.
- The plot dictates that the film begins immediately after the events depicted in "The Bourne Supremacy" (Paul Greengrass, 2004), but filming did not begin until January three years later. It was too cold in Moscow, so the corresponding scenes were filmed in Berlin. Snow was simulated using paper and foam, and it took over 5 hours to cover all the sets. An added bonus was that the paper and foam did not have a tendency to melt like real snow.
- While filming scenes in London, Matt Damon also appeared in a scene for Steven Soderbergh’s film "Ocean’s Thirteen" (2007). In it, Damon’s character walks down the street and discusses the security system of the casino the heroes are planning to rob.
- It took 6 weeks to film the car chase on Manhattan. All the vehicles involved in the scene were driven at a speed of 56 km/h, as prescribed by police department orders.
