What's left behind the scenes

  • Tigger speaks with the voice of Sharpened-Head Sam – a character invented by television and voice actor, inventor, and ventriloquist Paul Winchell (1922-2005).
  • All the objects in the background are outlined to better match the style of the drawings by Ernest Howard Shepard (1879-1996), famous for his illustrations to Alan Milne’s (1882-1956) “Winnie-the-Pooh”.
  • The last film that Walt Disney (1901-1966) himself participated in creating.
  • When Walt Disney acquired the rights to Winnie-the-Pooh along with the other characters and storylines in 1961, he learned that all of this was not as well known to Americans as it was to the British.
  • The film is based on three classic short Disney cartoons – "Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree" (1966), "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" (1968), and "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too" (1974).
  • Initially, Christopher Robin was voiced by different actors in all the short films. In this film, John Walmsley re-voiced Robin’s speech in "The Honey Tree" (it was originally performed by Bruce Reitherman).
  • Tigger's voice on screen is that of Dummy Sam – a character created by television actor and voice artist, inventor, and ventriloquist Paul Winchell (1922-2005).
  • All background objects are outlined to better match the style of drawings by Ernest Howard Shepard (1879-1996), famous for his illustrations for Alan Milne’s "Winnie-the-Pooh" (1882-1956).
