What's left behind the scenes
- Bud Luckey from Pixar did not reprise his role as Rick Dicker, as he had in the original film, and was replaced by actor Jonathan Banks. Thus, Dicker became the second Pixar character voiced by both a studio employee and an actor. In the film "Cars" (2006), Chick Hicks is voiced by Michael Keaton, while in "Cars 3" (2017) he is voiced by screenwriter and animator Bob Peterson.
- At the end of the film, Violet and Tony go to the cinema. The poster features the inscription A113. This is a reference to classroom A113 at the California Institute of the Arts, where some of Pixar's artists studied.
