What's left behind the scenes
- During the bedroom scene with Mirabelle, when a cat jumps onto the bed and begins to observe her and Jeremy, two cats were actually used for filming. As director Anand Tucker later explained, one cat would jump up but wouldn't look at what was happening, while the other patiently watched but refused to jump onto the bed.
- Screenwriter Steve Martin initially believed that Tom Hanks would play the role of Ray, but he eventually concluded that he would be better suited for the part himself.
