Short description
A catholic French couple sees their life upside down when their four daughters get married to men of different religion and origins.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film contains a large number of references to Gérard Oury's "The Mad Rabbi" (1973), which tells the story of a French bourgeois racist drawn into an Arab revolutionary conflict. When Odile calls David, the ringtone on his phone is the main theme from "The Mad Rabbi." Furthermore, in the plot of "The Mad Rabbi," the wife of Louis de Funès' character is a perpetually phone-talking dentist who leaves instruments in her clients' mouths, just like Odile. During Christmas dinner, the characters discuss Louis de Funès' role in the same film, and the man who greets Claude and his family in church is originally named Monsieur Gérard Oury.
  • As Claude and Marie prepare to go shopping by car to prepare for Christmas, people in summer clothes can be seen wandering around the city behind their car.
