What's left behind the scenes

  • In a scene in the film's trailer where Logan is drinking at a cemetery, the surname Peters is carved on one of the tombstones. This refers to actor Evan Peters, who played Peter Maximoff, also known as "Quicksilver", in Brian Singer's films "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014) and "X-Men: Apocalypse" (2016).
  • The second film in the "X-Men" franchise, which premiered at an international film festival (in Berlin). The premiere screening of the science fiction action film "X-Men: The Last Stand" in 2006 took place at the Cannes Film Festival.
  • It was believed that assigning an R rating (under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian) to the film was a result of the success of "Deadpool" (2016), as all previous installments in the Wolverine series had been marked with a PG-13 rating (parents strongly cautioned). However, producer Simon Kinberg stated that the decision to make an adult film was made in advance.
  • Producers were in negotiations with Liev Schreiber, trying to arrange the appearance of his character, Victor Creed (Sabretooth), from "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009), but these plans did not materialize.

  • According to Sir Patrick Stewart, many lines in the conversation at the table, where he and Hugh Jackman (Professor Charles Xavier and Logan, respectively) talk about the school for mutants, were improvised by the actors themselves at the request of the film's director James Mangold, who disliked the footage with the lines written in the script.
  • Director James Mangold was so impressed by the dedication to work of Risa Kilar (Laura's stunt double, played by Daphne Keen) that he gave her a small role in this film.
  • Daphne Keen (who played Laura) was 11 years old during filming, and despite all the permissions being obtained in advance, she was not allowed into the casino. Therefore, some scenes with Keen were filmed in front of a green screen, and some – directly in the casino, but not with Keen, but with her stunt double Sherami Martin, who was already 18 years old.
  • When Charles Xavier began to have seizures, Hugh Jackman didn't simply pretend to be repelled by an invisible force. He was held by two people on ropes, which added to the authenticity of his portrayal.
  • To play the role of the old and sick Xavier, actor Patrick Stewart lost almost 10 kg (22 lbs). According to Stewart, he weighed roughly the same since adolescence, and he had never intentionally lost weight before. In all scenes where Wolverine carries Xavier in his arms, Hugh Jackman was actually carrying Patrick Stewart.
  • At some point, Hugh Jackman firmly decided that this would be his last project in the role of Wolverine. He usually cited age and health as explanations. In addition, he had the example of Jerry Seinfeld, who played himself in the series “Seinfeld” (1989-1998) and became quite tiresome to viewers. Jackman said he really didn't want to become equally tiresome to audiences in the role of Wolverine.
