- The film is based on the article “La Vida Robot” by American writer Joshua Davis, published in Wired Magazine. It tells about a group of high school students who took first place in a remotely operated vehicle competition, beating the team from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. One of the obstacles the heroes face is the fact that some of them are undocumented immigrants from Mexico.
