What's left behind the scenes

  • The mountain road in the film's final scene with the bus is the Stelvio Pass in northern Italy. In the show "Top Gear" (2002), this road was named the most beautiful in the world.
  • Director Ruben Östlund was inspired to add some scenes to the script by videos he saw on YouTube. Thus, the avalanche that kicks off the story appeared in the script, and the 12-year-old accordionist playing Vivaldi's "Summer" was taken directly from a video he found.
