Short description
Living a bleak existence at a London orphanage, 12-year-old Peter finds himself whisked away to the fantastical world of Neverland. Adventure awaits as he meets new friend James Hook and the warrior Tiger Lily. They must band together to save Neverland from the ruthless pirate Blackbeard. Along the way, the rebellious and mischievous boy discovers his true destiny, becoming the hero forever known as Peter Pan.

- To find the lead actor, the filmmakers auditioned several thousand boys in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia before finding Levi Miller. Interestingly, Miller played Peter Pan on stage at the age of 5, for which he received an award.
- The role of Blackbeard was offered to Javier Bardem.
- The film's screenplay was on the "Black List" of the best unproduced screenplays of 2013.
- Lupita Nyong'o, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Pooja Hegde, and Devere Jacobs were considered for the role of Tiger Lily. Ultimately, Rooney Mara got the part.
- Dario Marianelli was originally intended to be the film's composer, but he was ultimately replaced by John Powell.
