- The German premiere took place at the famous Zoo Palast complex on Hardenbergstrasse in Berlin.

Both miniseries were created for HBO. In "The Pacific," a taxi driver tells a soldier just returned from fighting in Japan: "I fought too, but I was in Europe. You had it much harder in the Pacific!"
