• This film is based on a short story of the same name by Belcampo, which director Mike van Diem wanted to adapt for the screen since receiving an "Oscar" for the film "Character" (1997). Initially, the film was planned to be shot in the United States, and Scarlett Johansson was considered for the lead female role. However, van Diem was unsure if Johansson could handle the comedic role and failed to reach an agreement with the producers, eventually bringing the project back to the Netherlands.
