• Interior scenes were shot on 70mm film, while exterior scenes were shot digitally.
• James A. Adamson plays the bagpipes at the end of the film. The instrument, made at the beginning of the century, was purchased from the Scottish Society of Uganda and is completely authentic. It was acquired shortly after a recent visit to Uganda to celebrate the poet Robert Burns. In his youth, Adamson appeared in the BBC television series «Song of Sunset», where he had a small role in one of the episodes.
• The character Agnes Dane and her family members bear the surname Guthrie. The role of Evan Tavendale, whom the heroine will eventually marry, is played by Kevin Guthrie.
