• The film was shot on 4 continents and in 6 countries: in Australia, in Europe (Bulgaria), in South America (Brazil) and in Asia (Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia).
• The fight in the cafe on top of Sugarloaf Mountain was filmed in a studio, and the views of the surrounding area were later filmed on location and added to the shot.
• The island prison in Malaysia was called "Penjara Kidah." Filming took place in a real, now-closed prison in Chanthaburi province, Thailand.
• The dynamic finale of the film was shot on a luxurious yacht docked in the Gulf of Siam near Pattaya. Statham worked in scenes with Jessica Alba and Sam Hazeldine, and between takes of the scenes, he ran across the entire deck to the second film crew to shoot hand-to-hand combat scenes.
• After killing the arms dealer in prison, the hero, played by Jason Statham, escapes by jumping off a cliff into the sea. Statham was a member of the British national diving team for 12 years.
• The plot of the film borrowed heavily from Gary McKendry's "The Professionals" (2011), where the main character had to kill three people and stage each murder as an accident or death from natural causes.
