Short description
Wrongly accused of physically abusing a fellow actor, starving thespians Arthur and Maurice find themselves pursued by the law aboard a cruise ship.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Stanley Tucci and Oliver Platt met at Yale University and it was there that they came up with the characters (unemployed actors) for this film.
  • The scene in which Alfred Molina's character hits Matt Malloy's character with a sword is based on a real event that occurred when Nicol Williamson (1936-2011), while performing in Paul Rudnick's comedy "I Hate Hamlet" (1991), accidentally hit another actor with a sword during a fight scene. Known for his difficult personality, Williamson repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the production and subsequently left the cast.
