What's left behind the scenes

  • The French studio “Studio Canal” fully funded the project, and filming took place in Toronto, Canada.
  • Even before the film’s first theatrical release, the creators had fully recouped their costs by selling the rights to it in individual countries.
  • In mid-March 2009, while filming was in full swing, Liam Neeson was forced to urgently leave for his wife, Natasha Richardson, who had received a fatal injury while skiing. Just a few days after her death, the actor returned to the set on his own initiative and continued working. Producers and the director accommodated him by altering the script so that all remaining scenes could be shot in two days.
  • Both actresses who played the leading roles in the film, Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried, were born on the same day, December 3rd, 25 years apart.
  • Executive producer Jason Reitman helped persuade Amanda Seyfried to take on the role in the film.
  • Throughout the film, Julianne Moore's character receives text messages from Chloe. The dates appearing on her mobile phone show that time is moving backwards. At the beginning of the film, the date reads "March 27th", and at the end of the film, it reads "March 25th".
