Short description
A troubled and angry 11-year-old orphan from a small Texas town, ends up at a Boy Choir school after the death of his single mother. Completely out of his element, he finds himself in a battle of wills with a demanding Choir Master who recognises a unique talent in this young boy as he pushes him to discover his creative heart and soul in music.
What's left behind the scenes
- In his youth, Dustin Hoffman seriously pursued music (piano), but, like his character in this film, someone decided that he ultimately lacked the talent to become a musician.
- Shortly before filming began in Texas, Garrett Wareing broke his left arm in three places. He filmed with a splint on his arm, and a cast was only applied after filming was completed.
- CBS planned to release the film in the spring of 2016, but at the last moment the premiere was cancelled due to a scandal raised by former members of a boys' choir who had been subjected to sexual abuse at a private school similar to the one depicted in the film.
