Short description
An updated version of the 1980 musical, which centered on the students of the New York Academy of Performing Arts.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The TV series “Fame” (136 episodes over five seasons from 1982 to 1987) won three Golden Globe Awards and nine Emmy Awards. The series was a worldwide hit and was shown on the most prestigious TV channels, including NBC in the USA, BBC in the UK, and Channel 7 in Australia.
  • Over four million people have seen the “Fame” musical since its premiere in London in 1995, where the show ran for 12 years. Spanish, French, and German versions of the musical were staged. In addition, the musical was presented on stages in Italy, Australia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Switzerland, Portugal, South Africa, Scandinavia, the Czech Republic, and Estonia. In 2007, the show returned to the London stage.
  • The slogans on the posters refer to the lyrics of Irene Cara’s song “Fame,” which was featured in Alan Parker’s 1980 film of the same name.
