A decade after the death of an American TV star, a young actor reminisces about the written correspondence he once shared with the former, as well as the impact those letters had on both their lives.
What's left behind the scenes
- Ben Schnetzer and Sarah Gadon previously appeared together in "Happy Town" (2010), while Natalie Portman and Susan Sarandon previously collaborated on "Anywhere But Here" (1999).
- The role of the adult Rupert Turner was originally intended for Nicholas Hoult, but he left the project and was replaced by Ben Schnetzer.
- Singer Adele, for whom Xavier Dolan had previously directed the music video for "Hello", also auditioned for the role, but unfortunately was not cast. It could have been her first film role.
