What's left behind the scenes

  • The horror-punk band Misfits from New Jersey appeared in the film. They performed two songs from their album "Famous Monsters": Descending Angel and Scream, and also wrote two songs specifically for the film – Bruiser and Fiend Without a Face.
  • George A. Romero directed a music video for the Misfits' song Scream, and the only fee he requested was for them to appear in the film "Bruiser" (2000) and write a couple of songs for it.
  • This is the first film by George A. Romero not to be shot near his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
  • According to George A. Romero and his wife Christine Forrest in the commentary on the DVD of "Dawn of the Dead" (1978), the distributors of "Bruiser" (2000) presented it as a horror film. But both Romero and Forrest felt that it was not simply a horror film, but more of a story about a man going through difficulties in life.
